A former Alberta police officer claims the FBI staged a show arrest to make Leonard Peltier look bad so Canadian authorities would agree to extradite him to the United States for trial.
In a letter to the president of the United States, (with copies sent to U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno, Peltier, Amnesty International and the Assembly of First Nations) Bob Newbrook, 50, claims he arrested Peltier a day before the date when FBI records say he was arrested.

Construction is set to begin on a new centre designed to provide drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs for adults and youth in northern British Columbia.
The new Nechako Treatment Centre, to be located on the grounds of the Prince George Hospital, is expected to be up and running next summer.

In the 1970s, a delegation from the Ktunaxa nation went to Victoria and a number of Elders were brought to view the holdings of the Royal British Columbia Museum. One Elder said she didn't want to go, because it was so sad to see the nation's cultural artifacts locked up.
