SUCKER CREEK - The Sucker Creek recreation centre will be a very entertaining place to be on Sat., April 29, as local children 14 years and under take part in Junior Talent Quest 2000.

Organizer DonnaWillier has been involved in co-ordinating talent shows and jamborees in the community since 1997.

Last year she organized the Willow Point talent show as part of the Treaty 8 celebrations in Sucker Creek.

The Sucker Creek band is one of the sponsors, Willier said, with the recreation committee donating use of the gym, and various other committees donating trophies and door prizes.

In the past, one talent show was held for all age groups, but this year the event has been split in two. The adult talent show is slated for the summer.

"It's open to everybody. . . they can come and sing or dance or juggle, or just whatever their little talent is, we want to see it," Willier said.

Every participant in Junior Talent Quest 2000 will receive recognition in the form of a certificate, and trophies will be handed out to the most outstanding performers.

"We don't want any of the kids to go away feeling that they were failures. The trophies are not going to say first place, second place . . . they're going to say things like terrific singer, great up-and-coming singer," Willier said.

For more information about Junior Talent Quest 2000, or to register for the talent contest, telephone Willier at (780) 523-2578, or you can telephone Shirley Calliou at (780) 523-3301.
