The River Cree Casino is facing a minor setback as they shut down their temporary concert venue.

The structure, called “The Venue”, is a big white tent at the north end of the property and has been closed because of a building code deficiency.

The River Cree was not ordered to shut down the building, but did voluntarily when they found out there might be a problem.

The Venue has been used for many events and concert over the past 8 years and there has never been a problem with safety leading up to this discovery.

No word on when another option will be available or the problem will be fixed, but if you have tickets to an event at the River Cree in the near future, you will not be left un-accommodated.
The River Cree Casino is scrambling to find venues for many upcoming events.

General Manager Vik Mahajan says many places in Edmonton were willing to help them out.

“All this happened in such a short timeline and I think the best way for us to communicate and get information out there is online. We are consistently updating rivercreetickets.com, especially for the most immediate shows. We are in the process of relocating as many shows as we can and the city has been quite helpful.”

Once again, you can check rivercreetickets.com to find out the status of your event.

Mahajan adds they are confident that all concerts and events will be relocated but if not, you will definitely get your money back.
