CHUM Limited has launched a national multi-platform campaign to solicit nominations for the 2007 Top 20 Under 20, honoring young Canadians who have demonstrated a significant level of achievement, leadership and innovation. The call for entries closes Jan. 22, 2007.

Top 20 Under 20 is a national youth awards program founded by Youth in Motion. The competition is open to all Canadians under age 20, regardless of race, gender and/or religious affiliations. Each candidate's leadership and innovation initiatives must have led to the betterment of his or her school, community, province or country.

Academic achievement plays a minor role in the selection for these awards.

We are thrilled that CHUM has joined us as a Gold Partner," said Akela Peoples, co-founder, president and CEO of Youth in Motion. "We have been overwhelmed by their enthusiasm, creativity and tremendous support, which will take Top 20 Under 20 to a new level nationwide."

In addition, CHUM has established the Allan Waters Bursary, in memory of CHUM founder Allan Waters, which will be presented to the Top 20 recipient who best demonstrates entrepreneurship and has made an impact on his or her community. The bursary will be presented in June 2007 at the gala ceremony announcing the 2007 Top 20 Under 20 winners.

Top 20 Under 20 (www.Top20Under20.ca) was founded by Youth in Motion (www.youth-in-motion.ca), a national, not-for-profit organization focused on developing the employability and life skills of today's youth to prepare them effectively for success in life and work. Programs are designed to provide access to career information and increase awareness about opportunities for youth and those impacting the career decisions of youth.
