Ganley to speak at Knowing Our Spirits conference

Minister of Aboriginal relations Kathleen Ganley will be delivering remarks on Nov. 25 at the 22 annual Knowing our Spirits conference in Edmonton. This years’ focus is on knowledge being the key to understanding and how this affects First Nations, Metis and Inuit education, culture, Elders, youth, community wellness, Aboriginal language, alternative medicine, humour, residential school issues and healing. Ganley will be joined at the head table by Truth and Reconciliation Commissioner Chief Wilton Littlechild, Saddle Lake Cree Nation Chief Leonard Jackson, Cold Lake First Nation Chief Bernice Martial, O’Chiese First Nation Chief Darren Whitford, Blood Tribe Chief Charles Weaselhead and Edmonton mayor Don Iveson. The conference is presented by the Iyiniw and Education Training Institute and runs from Nov. 25-27.
