The Dene Tha’ and Tall Cree First Nations will have greater access to high-speed Internet through two Final Mile Rural Community Program grants.  The Tallcree First Nation will receive $109,200 to install broadband equipment on two towers, while the Dene Tha’ First Nation will get $163,500 to install a new tower and broadband network equipment. The province’s Final Mile Rural Community Program is investing more than $55 million in 23 projects to expand high speed Internet service in locations across the province. First Nations, Métis Settlements and municipalities were eligible to apply for grants covering up to 75 per cent of Internet infrastructure expenses such as towers, fibre optic cable, wireless equipment, installation costs, and radio licence fees.
