Fire leaves family homeless on Ermineskin Cree Nation

Donations are being gathered for a family of 14, who lost their home on the Erminskin Cree Nation and all their belongings to a fire on Dec. 4. The fire was caused by a furnace and broke out around 4 p.m., saidTara Cutarm. The home belonged to her brother Jason Cutarm and his wife Melissa Nepoose. All family members are safe. The community has rallied around the family, which includes three adults and 11 children ranging in age from two years to 17 years. Donations can be dropped off at Ken and Elizabeth Cutarm’s in Ermineskin and financial donations can be made to a GoFundMe account. Tara Cutarm said the Ermineskin Fire Department is also collecting donations.
