Armed forces fighting Saskatchewan wildfires
The Canadian Armed forces have been called in to assist with fighting wildfires in northern Saskatchewan. Up to 14-hundred personnel are preparing to gear up to support the firefighting effort. CFB Cold Lake is prepared to provide additional housing for evacuated residents should the need arise.
Close to 5-thousand 2-hundred Saskatchewan residents of La Ronge, Lac La Ronge Indian Band, and Air Ronge have been evacuated to Cold Lake, Alberta. They are being housed in the Cold Lake Energy Centre, as well the evacuated residents may be staying with family.

Loon River groundbreaking
Loon River First Nation held a groundbreaking ceremony on June nineteenth.
The groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Loon River Esso Truck-stop scheduled for a May/ June 2016 opening.
The Truck-stop will house a convenience store which will incorporate grocery items along with basic convenience store items.
There will be an Esso gasoline and diesel card lock and the truck-stop will also have sixteen to twenty two full-time positions.
