On Nov. 12, the RCMP and KARE unit unveiled a billboard by the intersection of Highway 814 and Airport Road near Nisku calling on the public’s help to solve the murder of Amber Tuccaro. Tuccaro was reported missing on Aug. 18, 2010, after she failed to return to a hotel in Nisku, where she had been staying with her infant son and a female friend after flying in from Fort McMurray. Tuccaro’s remains were discovered on Sept. 1, 2012, east of Leduc shortly after the RCMP made public an audio recording of a man’s voice. In the recording, Tuccaro repeatedly questioned the man about the direction in which he was driving them. RCMP believe the man was with Tuccaro shortly before she disappeared. The RCMP said there was no connection between the release of the audio recording and the discovery of Tuccaro’s body. Two more billboards are being placed near where Tuccaro’s remains were found.
