September 25, 2015. Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP Nathan Cullen says First Nations in Alberta and British Columbia stand together in
opposition to locating Pacific NorthWest’s LNG export terminal in prime salmon spawning grounds. "I think it has unified First Nations right across from here to Alberta because everybody understands the value of wild fish," said Cullen in Prince Rupert earlier this month. United Fisherman and Allied Workers' Union have also expressed concern about the location, stating that
before the environmental assessment process began for the terminal, the union had discussed with Petronas, a parent company of PNW, that the site wouldn't work based on the proximity to the salmon spawning region and the eelgrass environment. Cullen is running for re-election for the NDP.
