The most famous summer volleyball camp in Alberta is in its 23rd year of operation in Jasper National Park.

Kids come from across the province learn techniques, meet people and have fun.

Jeffrey Waspcolin (J.J.), 13, and 11-year-old Violet Tsonchoke from Assumption, enjoyed the camp.

"The volleyball coaches are great," said Violet. "It's a good camp to learn sports, meet new people and see other places."

The Alberta Volleyball Association provides a summer camp each year to train promising young volleyball players in the finer pints of the game. Starting in 1974, the Jasper volleyball camp runs for two weeks every June. Over 200 kids attend the camp each year.

Brochures and application forms are mailed out to junior and senior high schools throughout Alberta All applicants can get subsidies through Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks and Wildlife Foundation and there are scholarships from the Alberta Volleyball Club.
