Strater Crowfoot, former Chief of the Siksika First Nation, has been reappointed to the Premier’s Council on Alberta’s Promise. Joining Crowfoot as new appointments are Dr. Marie Delorme and David Tuccaro. Delorme is CEO of the Imagination Group of Companies, an Aboriginal-owned and operated consulting firm. She also has links to a number of corporations, governments and Aboriginal organizations and is active with many boards and committees. Tuccaro is a member of the Mikisew Cree First Nation and president and CEO of Tuccaro Inc. He is active in the Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities and has served on and continues to serve on various boards and committees. The council consists of 84 community, business and agency leaders. Alberta’s Promise works directly with businesses by providing information and support to facilitate their investments, both financial and in-kind, to agencies and communities at a local level to support children and youth programs and initiatives. The term of Alberta’s Promise was recently extended through 2018 in the recently passed Children First Act, which supports the health, safety and success of Alberta’s children. The appointments are in effect until 2016.
