February 24, 2015, Vancouver Coast Salish Territories – Family and community members will be gathering on Saturday February 28, 2015 at Surrey Central Skytrain Station to honour the life of Naverone Christian Landon Woods.

Woods was a young 23 year-old Gitxsan man who was fatally shot by transit police on Dec 28, 2014. His family describes him as "truly a gentle spirit" who "was respectful to all he came into contact with” and "brought happiness and laughter wherever he went."

The vigil marks the two-month anniversary of Woods tragic death.

Family and community members continue to raise many questions about the circumstances of his death, the use of deadly force by police, the role of armed transit police on a public transit system, and the underlying racism that disproportionately targets certain communities.
