University funding story corrected

Dear Editor:

Your recent edition mistakenly attributes a quote to me, to the effect that University of Saskatchewan and the Indigenous Students Council would jointly decide on the use of funds donated by Nova Corporation. What I told your reporter was that the University had attempted to be responsive to student needs regarding space. Indeed the University's entire fund raising campaign focused primarily on meeting student needs. However, the ultimate decision for how any funds raised are to be allocated, including the donation from the Nova Corporation, rests with the University of Saskatchewan.
