Rare photo, papers presented to First Nation

An Elder with the Standing Buffalo Dakota Nation recently presented a black and white photo of her adopted uncle, Louis Philippe Adelard Standing Buffalo, the son of Chief Standing Buffalo, to band council members at a ceremony in Regina. Irene Jacques also gave the band Louis Philippe Adelard's last will and testament. He died on June 21, 1922. Jacques had been keeping the documents in a safety deposit box at a bank. Council member Stella Is-nana said she plans to have the photo laminated and a version enlarged so it can be displayed.
