Curtis Peeteetuce is an actor, director, playwright and musician. As of Sept. 1, he is also the Saskatoon Public Library's Writer in Residence.

Peeteetuce, who is from Beardy's and Okemasis First Nation, has been involved in the arts since 2001 when he first stepped onto the stage as part of the cast of Love Songs from a War Drum, produced through the Saskatchewan Native Theatre Company's Circle of Voices program. In the five years since then, he's performed in 17 stage productions and eight staged readings. He's also directed nine productions and written nine plays.

Peeteetuce is the Saskatoon Public Library's 26th Writer in Residence. In that role, he will act as a mentor to other writer in the community, reviewing their work and providing criticism and suggestions and giving them advice regarding getting their writing published. He will be working out of the Frances Morrison Library

The library began its Writer in Residence program in 1981 and has had a Writer in Residence each year since.

The library's past Writers in Residence have included Guy Vanderhaeghe, Glen Sorestad, Candace Savage, Sean Virgo, Sandra Birdsell, Yann Maretl and, most recently, Jeanette Lynes.
