The parents of 17-year-old Jesse Kytwayhat are hoping members of the public can help them in their search for their son.
Jesse was living in Brandon, Man. with his mother when he left suddenly. He called his mother on July 15 and told her he was on the outskirts of Calgary and needed money.
He said he was heading for Chilliwack, B.C. where he had a job lined up with a construction company. He told his mother he was travelling with friends, but didn't tell her who they were. She hasn't heard from him since, and the company in Chilliwack that he was going to go to work for said he never showed up.
According to his mother, Jesse has money in his bank account, but hasn't touched it.
"I went to Calgary twice, looking for him," said Jesse's father, Ray Kytwayhat, who lives in Loon Lake, Sask. "There's been some sightings, you know, but I'm not sure if they're saying that for me to be hopeful.
"I checked most of the drop-in centres, the youth centres, the soup kitchens, even the river bank in Calgary."
Don Stewart is a spokesperson with the Calgary Police Service. He said that Jesse is listed
Canada-wide on the Canadian Police Information System as missing and all district personnel in Calgary have been advised to be on the lookout for a young person fitting Jesse's description.
"The other thing, though, is that there is no evidence that he is currently in Calgary, and there's no current evidence of foul play ... so that makes it kind of difficult," Stewart said. "At this point, there's no further leads in Calgary."
Jesse Kytwayhat is 5 ft. 11 in. tall and weights 175 lb. He has dark brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone who has any information about Jesse's whereabouts is asked to call Ray at (306) 837-7504, Sonia at (306) 837-4689 or Christina at (204) 728-7737.
They can also contact their local RCMP detachment and provide them with the information.
