People all across Saskatchewan can access health advice any time of the day or night, thanks to HealthLine, a service launched by Saskatchewan Health earlier this fall.

Calls to HealthLine are fielded by a staff of registered nurses who can provide professional health advice or information, and help callers determine the most appropriate source of care to address their particular concerns.

HealthLine nurses are available around the clock, and can provide information on symptoms, chronic illnesses, injury, nutrition and healthy lifestyles. The nurses are specially trained to help callers make decisions about their health care options.

The services provided by HealthLine are designed to provide residents with quck and easilty accessible access to important health information and advice, something previously lacking in some rural and remote communities.

The HealthLine service is available in English, with translations available in a number of other languages including French, Cree and Dene.

There is no charge to use HealthLine, and a Saskatchewan Health Card number is not required. All calls will remain confidential.

To access the toll-free HealthLine, call 1-877-800-0002.

HealthLine is not set up to respond to emergency situations. You should continue to call 9-1-1 for any medical emergencies.
