The Ktunaxa Kinbasket Tribal Council will receive a $3 million contribution from Indian and Northern Affairs for the restoration and development of the St. Eugene Mission, a destination resort catering to the increasing tourism market of the Canadian Rockies. The resort will feature a first-class 125-room resort hotel with conference and meeting facilities, an 18-hole championship golf course with pro shop and clubhouse, and an indoor pool and waterslide. The resort includes the Ktunaxa Interpretive Centre, traditional Ktunaxa Teepee Camp and the Ktunaxa Arts and Crafts Centre.

"This federal contribution helps to complete a decade of very hard work to restore a former residential school into an international resort," said Chief Sophie Pierre. "The St. Eugene Mission Resort project represents in total a $40.8 million investment in the region, and highlights the significant economic contributions and social benefits which will be generated for our tribal communities as well as the overall regional economy and our neighbors."
