May 2, 2016. The impact of WrapED will be the topic of discussion Tuesday as collaborators report back to the community half way through the program’s five-year mandate. WrapED (Wraparound Edmonton) is aimed at keeping high risk youth away from gangs. It is a collaboration between Native Counselling Services of Alberta. Africa Centre, Edmonton John Howard Society, Edmonton Police Service, REACH Edmonton and YOUCAN Youth Services. The youth involved in the program are referred by police or other social agencies and are often facing multiple barriers to success. WrapED is focused on helping youth build personal support teams, or wraparound teams, that include culturally appropriate supports. Early evaluation findings will be presented at the Santa Maria Goretti Centre.
